Retourenkette is an urban space étude for 25 participants, tracing a red thread through the city center starting from Mariahilferplatz. Passersby and participants intertwine the action In Search of Fulfillment by Lisa and Wilfried Prantner (Bis es mir vom Leibe fällt) with the global fast fashion market. Along the way, they listen to an audio piece that explores the afterlife of worn-out T-shirts, the rise of Europe’s first department stores in the early 20th century, and the Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana — the world’s largest second-hand clothing market.
