When Phillis suggests to drive across Germany with their VW-Van, her father Christian is thrilled with the idea. Christian, who is suffering from Tourette Syndrome, has been increasingly avoiding the public life in recents years. 

Too many open knives. Not everyone responds compassionate to the abusive words and taboos which the illness is able to detect. A neighbor had even tried to obtain a restraining order against Christian. Tourette holds out the mirror. "It's always a test, how far can it go, will I get a kick in my face right now, or will I meet goodwill," says Christian. But both Phillis and him think that they have been waiting for long enough. The time seems ready for the stress test Germany - from the living room, with the mobile radio-studio to Berlin and then to the sea.
