Deutscher Bundestag: 669 members of parliament make speeches and take part in debates as they represent the country and the people who voted for them. But what happens if for a change the voters represent their politicians? In May 2002 Rimini Protokoll for one day invert the system of political representation, and invite over 200 citizens of Bonn to copy the session taking place in the Bundestag in Berlin, with each participant taking the role of one delegate. The speeches of the "protagonists" are transmitted live from Berlin, prompted through earphones, and simultaneously translated by citizens of Bonn - including the heckling, voting, and applause. In “Deutschland 2”, however, the translation consists in an exchange not of language but from one body to another.
