I LISTEN TO MUSIC WITH PLEASURE

NAME: MARINA VRAPI

AGE: 15

PLACE OF RESIDENCE: CENTER OF ATHENS

BIRTHPLACE: TSEM SEKTORI, ALBANIA

ORIGIN: ALBANIA

AT THE NIGHT OF THE PERFORMANCE, SHE WILL COME ON A MOTORBIKE, DRIVEN BY HER FATHER, WHO IS VERY STRICT AND PROTECTIVE. SHE WILL FOLLOW PIREOS STREET, UNDER POULOPOULOS BRIDGE, AROUND THE PERIPHERAL OF FILOPAPPOU DOWN TO DIONYSIOU AREOPAGITOU AND FROM THEN WALK TO THE THEATRE.

Marina Vrapi was born in Albania, in a village called Tsem Sektori next to a city named Lousnia. At the age of one she moved to Athens with her parents and her brother Sotiris, whom with she lives up till now in an apartment in Psyrri next to “Thision” train station.

She’s just finished the 8th grade. When she was in the 3rd grade of Primary school, people were asking her mother about their religious beliefs. Marina didn’t know what to answer, since they were neither Muslim nor Christian. When she began to attend Religion classes at school, her mother decided to baptize her an Orthodox, the dogma everyone is taught in the Greek schools. On the night of the performance, she will be carrying a picture where one can see she was much older at her christening than the usual children being baptized.

She is still very flexible, something that used to define her at a young age from other children, especially when she was taking ballet classes. Nowadays, she proudly announces that she can easily touch her head with her leg!

She identifies herself with Hephaistos and Okeanides for being more sympathetic to others. But she is very fond of Euripides’ Helen, a woman that has been through a lot in order to be with her husband.
She is fluent in Albanian and Greek, she learns English and has managed to travel three times last year to her village in Albania to visit her family and relatives.

Her father will not perform but will be back stage supporting her and making sure that she is OK.

[39] Hephaistos: A strangely potent tie is kinship, and companionship as well.
