I SUFFER UNJUSTLY

NAME: GIORGOS PSIMENOS

AGE: 75

PLACE OF RESIDENCE: CHOLARGOS

BIRTHPLACE: KARDITSA

ORIGIN: KARDITSA AND SILIVRI, TURKEY

ON THE NIGHT OF THE PERFORMANCE HE WILL DRIVE FROM HIS HOME ON HIS VESPA AND FOLLOW THE STREETS MESOGEION, VASILISSIS SOFIAS, AMALIAS AND DIONYSSIOU AREOPAGITOU TO COME TO THE HERODEION.

Giorgos is the director of the artificial kidney unit at the Hippocratio Hospital in Athens : "Our patients who suffer from renal failure come to us every two days. The dialysis process takes 4 hours. Our job is to intercept death for as long as possible".

He studied at the Military Medical School and led a "spartan lifestyle during those 6 years. We lived together with the other students in camp - like conditions, we were driven to the classes and back, we wore uniforms all day long. Basically we gave up every right for freedom, privacy and ownership".

He reads ancient dramas and states Antigone as his favourite play and the homonymous hero as his beloved character : "Ι always find the conflict between moral imperative and state law very interesting".
Regarding the Aeschylus - text "Ι identify in a psychological way with Prometheus, not so much with the state he is in, but with the obligation he feels towards his mission".

He sees a resemblance between the Prometheus - myth and the Adam and Eve parable in the Bible : "In both cases we have the absolute battle between faith and science. In both cases the Gods punish man's struggle for more self-awareness".
