I SPEAK LOUD AND CLEAR

NAME : MARIA PAPAILIOU

AGE : 48

PLACE OF RESIDENCE : DOWNTOWN ATHENS

BIRTHPLACE : BLAGOEVGRAD, BULGARIA

ORIGIN : BLAGOEVGRAD, BULGARIA

ON THE NIGHT OF THE PERFORMANCE, SHE WILL WALK TO THE PETRALONA STATION, GET THE GREEN LINE TO THISSEION STATION AND WALK THE REST OF THE DISTANCE ON THE PEDESTRIAN STREET APOSTOLOU PAVLOU TO COME TO HERODEION.

Maria was born and grew up in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, where she also studied Education at the Southwest University. She has worked as a teacher and a shop assistant in a bookstore. In 1994 she met her Greek husband and followed him to Athens.

By accident she met Konstantina Kouneva at the Petralona station, when she heard her speaking bulgarian. Since then they are best friends : "i am proud of Konstantina and the things she has accomplished".
Because of her fear of elevators, she used to walk up ten floors every day at Evaggelismos hospital to visit her, although she suffers from asthma.

She reads ancient drama and states that “Orestia” is her favourite play : "Clytemnestra is a tremendous role. Just the thought of killing your husband and then get murdered by your own children is crazy".
From the Aeschylus - text she identifies herself with Prometheus, because "he is a hero with a positive view on life, a rare role model for all of us".
